So, how's your prayer life?
If you have spent much time around me at all, we have probably prayed together. My prayer life is as vital as oxygen is to breathe. That may sound a bit dramatic (and, yes, if you know me even a tiny bit, you would say I can be dramatic. I prefer to label myself as passionate!)
My Bible study group has been going through the book of Daniel, and it's been a while since I’ve lingered in these pages of Scripture - but I must say this is a book about a true prayer warrior. He has encouraged me to step up my prayer life. More importantly, we learn through Daniel's prayer life just how present God is, how mighty and responsive.
Friend, I am writing to invite you, not expect you, to consider your prayer life and the opportunity that waits for us when we humbly seek God through prayer. Praying is not an obligation but an opportunity to contemplate how big and holy and awesome is our God. The benefit is tremendous!
Praying Scripture is powerful, and I have experienced the greatest blessing through this practice: the blessing of God’s presence and realization of His holiness.
I’ll keep this short-and restrain from rambling on and on of the subject of prayer, which I could so easily do. Instead, maybe you can take the next few minutes and look up these prayers found within the Bible and contemplate them.
